THE COLLEGE LIE?

Go to school, they say. Go to college! Be somebody, get a job, get a high-paying job, work until you’re 65 years old, then retire, and have a good life. Won’t you agree that this has been one of the most convincing lies ever told? Perhaps at some point, it was true, perhaps at some point it made a few people live a convenient middle-class life, but now in 2020, the only thing it does is, put you at a negative when starting life. I mean, how much sense does it make to spend fifty thousand dollars to acquire a job that pays you twenty thousand annually and that’s with all your education? Or worse, you spend so much money acquiring an education you can’t use and that isn’t even worth the paper the diploma is written on.

Someone lied! Someone definitely lied and this lie has been shrouded in “college-graduate” prestige while young people are further being thrown into penury. We are working harder and harder to make less and less for a retirement that will most likely not serve us because we are living longer and longer. Ever wonder what will happen with social security or 401K? Won’t you agree that we all should have control of how we invest our money? Why should the government be the one dictating how and where we invest our money? We’ve seen how they manage money, more like, mismanage it.

If you’re young and just starting out in life, or maybe you’re farther along in your career, there is always a way to exit the rat race and create your own economy and for me, that is what has changed the trajectory of my life from 40-40 to 5-10. What am I talking about? Entrepreneurship! The right vehicle will always get you to where you want to go faster. I am glad that my mentors and coaches came into my life when they did. I was a mess. Coaching matters.
